EDIC Plans Falmouth Bus Station Improvements
The Falmouth Economic Development and Industrial Corporation continued brainstorming at its Tuesday, November 13, meeting about ways to transform the Falmouth Station and Station Grille from a successful historic renovation to a go-to destination.
Although the location on Depot Avenue is adjacent to the Shining Sea Bikeway and used by Peter Pan bus lines, a lack of air conditioning and accessibility from the bike path have proven to be major hurdles for potential customers. But change is on the horizon.
The EDIC, which entered into a 99-year lease with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation for the property, plans to add air conditioning and install a new water heater and build a connecting boardwalk from the bikeway over the train tracks to the restaurant. A new sign is also planned for the bike path to draw attention to the walkway. The EDIC anticipates completing the work before the start of the summer season. To read more of this article click here.
