Executive Office of Housing & Livable Communities (HLC): Community Planning Grant Team

 

Project Background

  • Sponsor: Falmouth Economic Development & Industrial Corp (EDIC).

  • Objective: Develop “For Rent” Workforce Housing proximate to downtown and other Falmouth businesses.

  • Role: Falmouth EDIC operates Falmouth Station and controls site thru long-term lease with Commonwealth.

  • Status: Preliminary site planning and development support underway thru HLC Community Planning Grant.

Community Planning Grant Scope (May 2025 - May 2026)

  • Background Review: Background Review, Site Visit, Basemaps, Site Analysis

  • Conceptual Design: Design Charrette, Collaborative Design, Conceptual Alternatives

  • Technical Analysis: Sewer Strategy Site, Circulation/Access, Grading & Drainage, Cost Estimate

  • Conceptual Design: Schematic Site Plan, Building Concepts, Updated Cost, Estimate

  • Phase 2 Tasks: Community Input, Economic Modeling, Approval Strategy, Draft Developer RFP

  • Developer RFP: Solicit Interested Parties, Evaluate Submissions, Select Partner, Negotiate Agreements
